Dilek Driving School by Silvi

"I rarely leave public reviews, but my experience with this driving school is too disturbing & awful to stay silent. From the beginning, the energy was low and draining. Communication was poor, and the atmosphere felt tensed. There was no clear structure or transparency around the number of driving lessons. They scheduled sessions randomly, without explaining how many were required or how far along I was. Payments were always in cash, and I was never given receipts just vague confirmations and requests for more money. I showed up for a scheduled driving lesson by 8AM under the rain. The place was closed , I waited and left after a while, they claimed the driver was in the car waiting and called me a liar. There’s no day I have come to their driving school and went straight to a car to meet a driver, why call me a liar when you failed to properly explain how your early morning driving lessons work? I texted that morning for confirmation but they obviously skipped that part just to accuse me of lying. When I returned in person to request my records, l was met with an aggressive staff member who became physically threatening, and I left with an injury. The man appeared to be the oldest staff member at the school, someone you’ll expect to set the tone of professionalism, instead he threatened me.It was so disappointing to see an elderly man act that way. Only after this confrontation did they send a partial record of my progress and even that appears incomplete. I spent so much money, time & energy here. All wasted! This experience was unsafe, unprofessional, and exhausting. No student should be treated this way. Replying to your response: Thank you for your reply, but I must respectfully correct several misrepresentations. First I don’t need your well wishes. You have no goodness in you to wish anyone well. I had no issues during the theory phase, so referencing a "misunderstanding" of your theory based approach feels misplaced. My concern arose when I calmly requested my record, and was met with aggression from your eldest male staff member. He switched to speaking German despite your school branding itself as English-speaking and attended to me all the while in English ,you clearly wanted to exclude and intimidate me yesterday. He threw my phone to the ground, banged the door at me, and made a deeply racist remark: "This is not Africa," mocking my identity as a Black woman. I have no reason to lie. I'm the one paying my money to your driving school-why would I lie with my own money? If I couldn't attend, I would say so. But I did come. I stood outside in the rain, waiting, and no one showed up. No apology. No accountability. I have video evidence of parts of this incident, though I cannot share it here. What I experienced was not a misunderstanding,it was targeted hostility.I came seeking clarity and was met with violence. I hope you reflect on the gravity of this behavior and take steps to ensure no other student is treated this way."

"I passed my test today in First attempt. I think this school in unique and one of the best in Berlin. Here is the reason why? - Their hourly rates are normal and comparative with other - Flexible classes schedule, i have seen other students waiting for weeks just to get a class - Not waiting for weeks just to get Prufung date, this is important, since most of my friends waited for month just to get a test date. - Most important, they have English Speaking staff and instructors"

"I chose Dilek Autoschool for converting my driving license (Umschreibung) and was completely satisfied with my choice. My selection criteria for the driving school were: good reviews, availability of English-speaking instructors, a convenient app for studying theory, availability of the Ukrainian language in the app, proximity to my work and home, and the presence of intensive courses. I read online that this process usually takes a lot of time. However, to my surprise, it took only 8 days from my first practical lesson to passing the practical exam. As my instructor Tunjei said, the driving school does not profit by making more money on students but helps them pass the exam on the first attempt and cares about its reputation. If the instructor believes you are ready to take the test, you will get an exam date very quickly and, hopefully, pass it right away on the first attempt. Driving School employees communicate well in English here, and even if someone who doesn't speak English answers the phone, they will call you back or hand over the phone to someone who can. They assist with all the nuances and prepare you to pass the exam on the first attempt. I highly recommend this driving school, as I experienced no disappointments, only positive experiences. The instructors even invited me to the school just for tea or to discuss road situations when needed. Unfortunately, it turned out that the app did not have the Ukrainian language. However, I now understand that most apps are quite similar. When Ukrainian is added to the list of official languages for the theoretical exam, it will be included in all apps. Я вибрав автошколу Dilek Autoschool для обміну моїх прав (Umschreibung) і залишився повністю задоволений своїм вибором. Моїми параметрами вибору автошколи були: хороші відгуки, наявність англомовних інструкторів, зручність додатку для вивчення теорії, доступність української мови в додатку, близкість до роботи та дому, а також наявність інтенсивних курсів. Хоча, на жаль, виявилося, що української мови в додатку немає, тепер я розумію, що додатки майже всі однакові. Коли українська мова додасться до списку офіційних мов для складання теоретичного іспиту, то її додадуть до всіх додатків. В інтернеті я читав, що процес обміну прав зазвичай займає багато часу. Проте, на мій подив, від мого першого практичного заняття до здачі практичного екзамену пройшло всього 8 днів. Як сказав мій інструктор Tunjei, автошкола не заробляє на учнях, а допомагає здати екзамен з першої спроби та піклується про свою репутацію. Якщо з точки зору вчителя ви готові до здачі, то ви дуже швидко потрапите на екзамен та, сподіваюся, одразу складете іспит. Тут добре спілкуються англійською, навіть якщо слухавку підніме хтось, хто не говорить англійською, вам перетелефонують або передадуть слухавку. В автошколі допомагають у всіх нюансах та готують здати іспит з першого разу. Я з задоволенням рекомендую цю автошколу, жодного розчарування. Інструктори навіть запрошували до себе в гості просто попити чаю або обговорити ситуації на дорозі, коли буде потреба."

"I didn't want to pay extra money for exchanging my driving licence to the German one, so I was actually looking for information rather than a driving school at first. They were so open and clear about the procedures that I just enrolled here. Also, I cannot speak German well, but we were able to communicate clearly both in English and Turkish. My driving instructor, Atilla, would first show me visual instructions, and then we would practice them together in the traffic. He always took note of my behavior & mistakes and gave me a summary in each lesson. I was asked to follow a very similar path in the practical driving test to the ones I practiced in lessons, and this proved to be helpful enough for me to pass even in the first try. :) Thank you Yaren for your kind heart and big help along the way <3 This might be a bit biased, but I think Atilla is the best instructor out there in Berlin :)"

"Nice school and very good instructor Karim. I passed my driving exam on my first attempt. All the lessons were interesting and in English. Karim is a walking encyclopedia of driving, he knows all the rules and will explain them to you, so that you will understand not only how to drive through certain difficult intersections, but also why. The funny thing is that he found and showed me the mistakes of other instructors from other driving schools when we were driving. I got the opportunity to date my exam in four weeks."

"I recently completed the Umschreibung of my California driving license to a German license. For the practical training, I attended Dilek Driving School and studied with Imre for a few lessons, took a break then returned and worked with Cihan. Amazing teacher - Knowledgeable, patient and great sense of humor. After just a few weeks of lessons, I was ready to take the test, and I passed! Other pros include that most teachers can work with you in English (though you need to know some key German phrases for the test) and they also offer quick communication via WhatsApp."
